Our Story
Casa Fonkel is not just a business; it's a family dream brought to life. I'm Karen, a Peruvian who has called Belgium home for over a decade. My journey began in the corporate world, where I immersed myself in the realm of data and technology, nurturing a deep passion for AI and digital creativity. My husband, John, is Belgian and has spent over 20 years in the diamond industry. His creativity, especially his love for colored diamonds, complements my digital inclination perfectly.
We wanted to blend our unique strengths and embark on an entrepreneurial path together, and thus, Casa Fonkel was born. The name itself is a blend of our backgrounds—'Casa' evokes a sense of home and family in Spanish, while 'Fonkel' captures the sparkle and brilliance we aspire to bring to our customers, inspired by the Flemish word for sparkle.
Our Philosophy
At Casa Fonkel, sustainability is not just a buzzword—it's our guiding principle. Operating on a made-to-order basis, we minimize waste and ensure that each creation is crafted with care and intention. Our diamonds are 100% sustainable and lab-grown, embodying ethical practices and environmental responsibility. We also strive to use recycled gold whenever possible, further reducing our ecological footprint. Our shipping times may take a little longer, typically ranging from 3 to 4 weeks, but rest assured, the wait is worth it.
